Two days of marathon meetings ended bitter year-long negotiating as, 1,600 workers represented by AFSCME 1902 have reached a tentative agreement with the Metropolitan Water District (MWD). Among the highlights of the three year contract are a 3.1% across-the-board salary increase, as well as a one-time lump sum payment to employees. In addition, MWD has agreed to address long time issues of classification and to use seniority among qualified employees when a transfer is necessary because of excess skills.
