Our brothers and sisters at UFCW need your help to pass legislation that will stop the sale of alcohol through self-checkout stands at grocery stores.
Please support Assembly Bill 1060 (De La Torre) which would require all alcohol sales to be made through a face-to-face transaction with a cashier.
California law already requires that tobacco, spray paint and some cold medicines be sold through a face-to-face transaction, but alcohol can be purchased through “virtual vending machines.”
That’s why we need to pass AB 1060. It will be up for a final vote any day now in the California State Senate — and we need your help to get it passed.
