This hearing is a mechanism for carwash workers and the Los Angeles community to highlight the experiences of workers on the job and establish a community voice on worker rights’ issues. The National Workers’ Rights Board is a project of Jobs with Justice that has a proven track record of shining the light on workplace abuses and creating opportunities to address them. The Board will be composed of key national and local leaders who are drawn from a broad spectrum of the LA community. Members of the Workers’ Rights Board panel will be hearing testimonies from workers and employers, community and labor leaders, health and safety and environmental experts and academics about conditions in the carwash industry.
