General
Secretary Dave Prentis of UNISON, Great Britain’s largest public sector
union, sent a letter of solidarity to the LA Labor movement regarding
our March and Rally on March 26.
He wrote, “…Collective bargaining is recognised in international law –
it is at the heart of what makes a solid, decent democracy… On behalf
of UNISON’s 1.4 million public sector workers, I would like to tell the
Wisconsin workers, and their supporters in California, that we stand
firmly shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters in America.”
Thousands of UNISON members and supporters will also march in the streets of London on March 26 to protest drastic cuts to Britain’s public services.
