The first delegation arrived this week to Beverly Hospital in Montebello. Beverly Hospital is stalling in negotiations. It has almost been a year since Beverly nurses voted to join AFSCME United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals.
The delegation included Ed Chau, Montebello School Board member, David Vela, Montebello School Board member, Gerri Guzman, Montebello School Board member, Bryan Urias from the Office of Congresswoman Judy Chu and Beverly Hospital nurses and AFSCME UNAC/UHCP representatives. They were stopped by security, but they all identified themselves and eventually met with the CEO.
We must keep up the pressure on Beverly Hospital with more delegations. We are asking all unions, community groups, faith organizations and elected officials to send a delegation to Beverly Hospital to stand with Beverly nurses.
