One hundred and thirty workers at the Delphine Restaurant in the W Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles won union recognition, joining their hotel co-workers in UNITE HERE Local 11. Members and organizers from the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (AFTRA), particularly the music video dancers, played a key role in helping to organize the Delphine workers, many of whom are actors and entertainers.
“We are very excited to win a union. We are excited by just the prospects of change. We now will have a unified voice to negotiate a fair work environment,” says Raquel Houghton, cocktail server at the Delphine Restaurant and W Hotel.
