Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel, City Councilman Eric Garcetti and City Councilwoman Jan Perry pledged yesterday they will not accept campaign contributions from Walmart. They also pledged support for tomorrow’s March Against Walmart and Low Wage Jobs in Chinatown.
These declarations follow L.A. Labor’s call on all L.A. County elected officials to refuse campaign donations from Walmart in the wake of the alleged bribery scandal in Mexico.
Recently, U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu pledged not to take Walmart’s money and called on others to give it back if they have.
