The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO’s delegate body last night issued their endorsements for the upcoming Spring 2008 elections. Endorsements were made in seats ranging from Congressional to Los Angeles Superior Court.
Several dozen public safety professionals representing the interests of local police, county Sheriffs fire and probation employees held a press conference today to officially announce their endorsement of Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas in the June 3rd race to replace current Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite–Burke. Burke announced her retirement last year.
Through an aggressive phone banking and mail campaign that contacted over 100,000 union registered voters, Los Angeles workers helped deliver the vote to ensure the passage of Proposition S.
